Creating Breastfeeding-Friendly Workplaces Made Easy

Employers who support breastfeeding Mums in the workplace benefit from a happier, healthier workforce.

By making a few simple adjustments, employers can foster greater job satisfaction, increase employee loyalty, reduce absenteeism and boost workplace diversity and inclusion.

At Baby-Thrive we’re expert in helping create breastfeeding-friendly workplaces. We support both breastfeeding Mums returning to the workplace and employers, ensuring Mums return to work happy in the knowledge that their employer has their needs at heart.

Here’s why it matters:

300% ROI

Employers who provide lactation support see a 3:1 return on investment from reduced healthcare costs, fewer sick days, and lower turnover.

Lower Absenteeism

Breastfeeding families report fewer one-day absences due to child-related illnesses, a boost for productivity.

Improved Public Image

In showing commitment to family-friendly policies, you enhance your reputation as an employer of choice.

Reduced brain drain

Retain those talented employees — they stay loyal to an employer that accommodates their needs.

Higher Morale and Loyalty

Employees who feel valued and heard are happier, more productive and more loyal!

Legal Compliance

Supporting breastfeeding in the workplace ensures compliance with relevant guidelines for breastfeeding colleagues, safeguarding against legal and reputational damage.

Here’s how we help:

We help businesses large and small create a pragmatic approach to supporting Mums returning to work.

Review current policies/guidelines and shape new ones:

The needs of your breastfeeding team members touch on health & safety, physical facilities, timetabling, parental leave and more. We’ll partner with you to review current policies and help you craft a pragmatic plan that is compliant and reflects modern best practices.

Coaching for returning Mums

I can provide infant feeding support remotely or with home visits (in London) for your team, as well as

Antenatal, fourth trimester workshop, newborn and Return To Work planning sessions. These can be funded by the individual or as a benefit funded by the employer.

HR Resources:

We’ll help you create a directory of available resources form both employees and managers that’s bespoke to your workplace

Staff training

We can craft bespoke training for line managers and People teams, and can create content promoting awareness of the needs of breastfeeding Mums.

Creating breastfeeding-friendly spaces:

Reviewing on-site facilities and aligning with best practices.

Why us?

I’m an experienced International Board Certified Lactation Consultant — a fancy term for a breastfeeding coach.

In addition to supporting Mums directly, I specialise in helping workplaces support Mums transitioning back into work after maternity breaks.

I wrote a dissertation on the benefits for companies who better support their breastfeeding employees.

And I’m a consultant to Reading university research project Maternal well-being, infant feeding and return to paid work decisions

How much will it cost?

We can craft a solution that reflects the elements you wish to cover in your plan. Our undertaking to you is that we’ll provide genuine expertise and great value.
